Club grading this Saturday

Tue May 3rd 2022

A reminder that this Saturday we will be holding an adults grading at the hall. It’s been a long time coming for some of you, so all the best.

Master Callum Forbes will be up from Wellington to oversee the grading, and we hope to see Master Malcolm (4th Dan) too.

It starts at 11am and goes until it finishes - it will likely run for a couple of hours.

The people grading are;

Artur and Danny - 1st Dan (blackbelt)
Maddie - Black tip
Nami - Red belt
Gregor and Yas - Double red tip
Pam and Jess - Red tip
(and maybe some whitebelts too)

Paul may also demonstrate some patterns as part of his work towards 3rd Dan.

For those not grading, we encourage you to come along. Everyone taking part would appreciate the love the support.

Some of those who have graded, along with other club members will be heading out to dinner later in the evening. Numbers are limited, and speak to Pam for the details.

To reiterate: there is no kids class this Saturday (they will begin next week on the 14th) but you’re very welcome, and indeed encouraged, to come and watch the grading. The kids (and some adults) might like to see what students have to go through to earn their belt!

  • "Excellent training regime, relaxed yet disciplined, very helpful and experienced instruction, great people to train under and lots of fun" - James CB
  • "Great training environment for both kids and adults. The instructors and other students have a really friendly, positive, attitude. I really like the combination of striking and grappling." - Sol K
